PC Donation and Sponsorship for Development of ICT training Facilities to Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) 6 Jun. 2008

The objective of this program was to enable and empower visually impaired people and personnel working with or for the blind, through the use of the most appropriate devices and software, and also to learn how to apply them as study and employment tools as a means for the visually impaired to achieve their full potential in life.
DENSO Malaysia has sponsored RM10,000 for the acquisition of JAWS Screen Reader software together with blind aids, and has donated 6 used personal computers towards MAB's ICT development program. The Deputy Director General, Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development officially launched the ceremony and awarded certificates to 9 participants from the ASEAN region who successfully completed a 5-month Online Web Accessibility Workshop. This workshop was conducted by a Microsoft Consultant from USA and was organized by ON-Net, USA and MAB.
About 150 participants including 4 employees from DNMY attended the event on highlights of the program, which were the Web Accessibility Workshop, the ICT Fund Launch and the Cheque Presentation Ceremony by DENSO Malaysia Sdn Bhd. |
