Green Curtain Project May to Oct. 2008

We participated in "Green Curtain Contest," a green-wall project organized by the City of Anjo. We planted 40 bitter gourds to cover the south side of the headquarters' windows. It eased the strong summer sunshine, cooled down the room temperature by an average of 2.1 degrees Celsius, and on top of that, served to reduce CO2 production. The harvested bitter gourds were cooked at canteens for lunch and distributed to the employees.

Though looking after the plants was tough to do, we were able to actually confirm that the room temperature dropped, and to harvest the plants. Overall, it was a good experience.
