Volunteers to support a marathon event 5 Dec. 2010
The area 8 km from the starting point along the marathon course in Haebaru-cho, Okinawa Prefecture |
We provide supporting activities for NAHA Marathon in the area along the course every year. This year (the 26th event), an upper limit for the number of runners was introduced (25,000 persons). This competition is popular among joggers all over Japan. We were especially impressed this year when many of the persons around the support booth other than our associates agreed readily to our request for help in providing bananas and water for the runners.
We said, gLetfs support them together again next year.h We also received words of appreciation from the joggers. |

Some tasks were tough, like preparation on the previous day, installation of the booth on the day and cleaning of the area along the course after the race. However, I felt much fulfilled after the work. I will participate voluntarily again next time. |
