Bicycle repair to support victims of the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake 4/26/2011-4/28/2011 and 5/17/2011-5/20/2011

To help with the recovery and relief support for the Great East Japan Earthquake, the DENSO Group was asked to help put on a bicycle repair event working together with the city of Kariya. The students enrolled in the industrial high school program at DENSO Industrial School received training and instructions at WAFCA, Wheelchairs & Friendship Center of Asia (NPO), repaired approximately 430 bicycles and delivered them to the affected areas.

The students who participated in the repair event offered the following comments concerning the event: "I wanted to help out the victims in the affected area in any way possible, and I was happy to have this chance by repairing bicycles." "It was a great opportunity to refine the skills I had learned before at this bicycle repair event." "More than anything, it makes me happy knowing that the bicycles we fixed are able to help out the victims in some way."
