When a vehicle operates or fuel is burned in the generation of electricity, gases such as CO2 are emitted. Approximately 40% of the CO2 emissions in Japan are exhausted by industry and 20% from vehicles. These exhaust emissions have increased too much in the atmosphere and have contributed to the warming of the earth. As a result, there is some anxiety over the many impacts from global warming, such as the loss of coastal land due to rising sea levels, abnormal climate, food crises, and the increase of communicable diseases. |
