DENSO Exhibits at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show
DENSO Corporation is exhibiting its latest technologies and products, which connect people, vehicles, and society at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show. The show is being held at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center and will be opened to the public from Saturday, Dec. 3 to Sunday, Dec. 11.
Connecting People, Vehicles, and Society
Resonance 2021, DENSO’s main exhibit, is a cockpit simulator envisioned for the 2021 automotive society. It is designed around the concept of offering optimal systems in a society where people, vehicles and society are safely connected with information communication technologies. The Resonance 2021 exhibit allows visitors to experience how people, vehicles, and communities will “connect” to each other in real time to make driving more convenient and enjoyable.
To help address the global increase in traffic accidents, DENSO also is presenting safety systems to mitigate accidents and make drivers feel at ease. Some of DENSO active safety technologies that is displayed include: the Low-speed Collision Avoidance System, which helps prevent collisions; the Automatic Steering System for Parking Assistance, which helps the driver steer the vehicle into a parking space; and, the Lane Departure Warning System, which alerts the driver of potential hazards when the driver changes lanes.
In addition, other DENSO products and technologies that connect people and vehicles that are displayed include: the Remote Touch Controller, which allows the driver to operate the audio system using a mouse-like device; Air conditioning systems and other cabin devices that can be controlled without directly touching them; and, the Drowsiness Detection System that detects when the driver is falling asleep by analyzing the driver’s facial expressions.
DENSO also is displaying products and technologies that connect vehicles and society, which include: a Sensing System, a technology equipped with sensors to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings; and, the Vehicle-Infrastructure Cooperative System, which is based on vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications technologies.
DENSO’s technologies that connect society and people that are displayed include: ARPEGGIO, a service that connects Smartphones and on-board devices to allow users to safely use Smartphone applications in the vehicle. Some applications include an information search and Internet radio.
In addition to these technologies, DENSO is exhibiting eight products including inverters, battery-monitoring units, and electric compressors for hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles, which will be essential in the coming age of electric power vehicles.
For the non-automotive area, DENSO is introducing its Home Energy Management System products and present its comprehensive approach to the future automotive society where people, vehicles and houses are interactively connected.
