DENSO Celebrates Opening of Manufacturing Company in the Czech Republic

TOKYO - Tokyo - DENSO Corporation held an official opening ceremony May 17 at its manufacturing subsidiary, DENSO MANUFACTURING CZECH s. r. o (DMCZ) in Liberec City, the Czech Republic.

Nearly 200 people attended the ceremony including the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Vladimír Spidla, the Minister of the Industry and Trade, Milan Urban, Mayor of the Liberec City, Jirí Kittner, representatives from the Czech Republic government and the Liberec City, as well as Japanese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Koichi Takahashi. DENSO Corporation President and CEO Koichi Fukaya presided over the ceremony.

DMCZ was established in July 2001 and has been manufacturing car air conditioner products since November 2003. The car air conditioner products include heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) units, heater cores, evaporators, condensers and dumper limiter (DL) pulleys for compressors.

“We expect the demand for air conditioners to rise in Europe,” said Seiji Nakagoshi, DMCZ president. “DMCZ will strengthen our supply framework to meet the increasing demand.”

|
In addition to DMCZ, DENSO operates four European production facilities for car air conditioner products, in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Turkey. Also DENSO established a new air conditioning company in Spain in December 2003.
