DENSO to Supply Iridium Plugs to Subaru Impreza WRC
|

TOKYO -DENSO Corporation today announced that it will supply its iridium spark plugs to the Subaru Impreza WRC of the Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) during the 2005 season of the World Rally Championships (WRC).

|
The iridium plug that will be installed in the Subaru Impreza WRC was specifically developed for the WRC car and has the same basic structure as the "Iridium Racing" spark plug - which has extremely thin iridium alloy center electrodes.
|
|
|
"The extremely thin iridium alloy center electrodes ensure excellent ignition performance, leading to fewer misfires, improved acceleration and smoother driving," said Hiromi Tokuda, managing officer of DENSO Corporation in charge of the Powertrain Control Systems Business Group. "Also, by using platinum alloy on the whole ground electrode, fracture and wear is reduced even under severe racing conditions like races and rallies, and the strength and durability is increased compared to normal plugs."

Currently, DENSO sells its Iridium Power Series (Iridium Power, Iridium Tough, Iridium Racing), in more than 60 countries worldwide.
