 |
TOKYO- In November, DENSO Corporation launched its second annual global company-wide community service campaign, "DENSO Group Community Service Day." The campaign, created to encourage all DENSO Group companies to contribute to their local communities, officially runs from November to January. Employees from 83 group companies in 22 countries are expected to participate. The first "DENSO Group Community Service Day" was held in 2004.

While DENSO Group companies promote community service year round, "DENSO Group Community Service Day" is a way to better organize and track activities and encourage all group companies to participate.

"Under the corporate slogan of, 'Turn compassion into action,' which was selected from entries submitted by our employees, the DENSO Group will continue to promote community activities, focusing on environment, support to the less fortunate, and education," said Masatoshi Ano, senior managing director of DENSO Corporation, responsible for the Corporate and Administration Centers.

Group companies in North America, Europe, and Asia and Oceania are carrying out their own campaign activities based on the specific needs of each region and country. For instance, DENSO International Australia Pty. Ltd. will offer food and toys to underprivileged children at Christmas. DENSO Mexico S.A. de C.V. is selling bread made by a welfare institute, CAIFAC*, to employees and will donate the proceeds to charity to help children who received child-abuse.

 |
"Through these activities, DENSO wants to help enrich local communities, strengthen relations and earn the trust of its neighbors around the world," said Ano.
