DENSO to Build New Facility for Electronic Products at Agui Plant
TOKYO - DENSO Corporation announced today that it will build a new facility on the premises of its Agui Plant located in Agui-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi prefecture, Japan. DENSO ELECS Co., Ltd., a wholly owned company by DENSO, will transfer its headquarters and electronic product manufacturing plant from the DENSO Takatana Plant in Anjo, Aichi prefecture to the new facility.
The building area will be 12,800 square meters and the total building investment will be approximately 2.2 billion yen* (approximately US$19 million).

"With this move, all of DENSO ELECS functions will be centered at the Agui Plant including the existing production facilities for industrial robots," said Masatoshi Ano, senior managing director in charge of DENSO's Corporate and Administration Centers.

Construction of the new facility is set to start in July and be completed in March 2007. Production of electronic products including bar-code readers, IC card readers, and programmable controllers is scheduled to start in May 2007.

The products produced by DENSO ELECS are developed by DENSO WAVE Inc., a DENSO group company that manufactures industrial products.

"Following the relocation of DENSO ELECS, we plan to move the development division of DENSO WAVE, currently located on the same premises as DENSO headquarters, to the Agui Plant," said Ano. We anticipate that will take place in fiscal 2007 or later and will help increase production and development efficiency."
