Casey Stoner wins the third race in the 250 cc class at World Championship Grand Prix.
CHINA GRAND PRIX SHANGHAI, 1 May 2005 250cc RACE
First 250 pole position and second victory for Casey Stoner who leaded the Shanghai GP in wet conditions. After a bad
start the Australian rider, who started from the first position, was able to catch the front group leading the race from
the second lap till the end. He kept an incredible pace for the whole race with Dovizioso behind him but Casey was
very concentrated. In those conditions it was not easy to keep the temper but the CARRERA SUNGLASSES . LCR rider
no. 27 confirmed his great talent pushing hard till the last corner winning the race. This is the second victory for Stoner
who is now second in the world standing with 50 points (3 less than the leader Dovizioso). His team mate Roberto
Locatelli finished out of the score zone.
"I was ready for a dry race but in the warm up session this morning I did not get the right feeling in the wet. The team
made a great work to set up the bike and my Aprilia was very fast. Unfortunately my start was bad buy I was able to
catch the front group in the second lap. I decided to keep the lead of the race cause I had a good pace. Dovizioso was
behind me for the whole race and knew that he could pass me in the last lap. But in the final laps it started to rain
again but I knew I could keep the pace avoiding any mistake. I am very happy for this victory and want to thank the
team".
"I made a good start but after few laps I understood that my pace was not very fast. I still have some problems with
the chassis setting and in the wet the situation became worse. I was not able to ride as I like and am very
disappointed about this result. Anyway I want to express my congratulations to Casey cause he is a very good rider".
