JAPAN GRAND PRIX MOTEGI, 18 SEPTMBER 2005  250 CC RACE
Casey Stoner got the third position of the Motegi GP after a very close race with an incredible final lap: at few corners to the finishing line Lorenzo and De Angelis crashed so the Australian rider no. 27 obtained his 6th podium. Casey is still second in the world standing with 163 points. Unlucky race for Roberto Locatelli who crashed in the second corner. The Italian rider has been bumped into the gravel by another rider but Roberto will be ok for next race in Malaysia.
Casey Stoner THIRD
"I am very surprised about this race because I did not expect a podium finish. All that we wanted was to limit the points difference on Dovizioso. We made a big improvement from the warm up and from the start the bike felt very good. I want to thank the team because they really worked hard".
Roberto Locatelli crashed
"In the second corner Smrz went wide and hit me together with some other riders. He gave me his apologies for the trouble and I understood because these are the races. I feel sick because of the impact on the asphalt but I will be Ok in a few days".
