The battle between 1/5 scale radio control cars, mounted with 23cc utility engines, is a heated one.
Every year, many racers participate all over the world, in an effort to take the champion's crown.
The engine is an air-cooled 23cc engine, manufactured by Zenoah. It uses 98-octane gasoline, and has an engine speed of 19 000 rpm, on a par with F1 engines. Plug selection also requires careful consideration when racers are fighting it out over 0.01 second.
France's Bernard-Alain Arnaldi has been using DENSO IRIDIUMPOWER IUF27A for many years, and has had great success, becoming the world vice champion once, and the European vice champion and French champion five and six times respectively.
Arnaldi's extreme dedication to his car (1/5 RC car) and improving its performance led him to conduct some road tests using several different types of plug.
He made the following comment about the results.
"At high speeds, IUF24 performed the best, but IUF27A was the best at low speeds. These results can be attributed to the fact that the electrode shape of IUF24 is different to that of IUF27A."

DENSO IRIDIUMPOWER has now forged ahead into the RC category, and is experiencing success on an international level.
And, with Arnaldi's racing spirit, it may not be long before we see him take the world championship crown.
